Hi, I'm Mike Gane an enthusiast on any 2 wheels. The Rescue Chopper is really important for our community so please support me.

Update - Only a few days to go to the start of this epic ride. 245kms on a 50cc scooter - just how silly do I have to be to even contemplate this?? Actually, I'm really looking forward to it. Especially the pizza at the Alpine Lodge in St Arnaud - a big THANKS to them.

Then of course there is the pizza and beer at the Sprig & Fern in Tahunanui at the finish.

And the weather looks like it'll be fine. Fingers crossed for that.

Update 2 - it's now done and dusted. The best weather possible with great company for an even greater cause.

I have definitely never ridden for that distance as slow as that. Usually I'm looking well ahead to gauge the road conditions and other various obstacles that may cause me harm. Saturday I was riding along watching the grass growing longer as I rode by. Strangely it was very enjoyable.
