Running for families in Gaza

Since October 2023, thousands of innocent men, women, and children have been killed in Gaza, and those who are still alive are in desperate need of food, water, medicine, and shelter.

As horrific as the past months have been, the plight of the Palestinian people did not begin in October 2023 but has been ongoing for decades. The 15th of May marked 76 years since the Nakba (catastrophe), which saw many Palestinians experience violence and dispossession with 750,000 Palestinians forcibly removed from their homes and villages. To acknowledge the ongoing Nakba, I have chosen to run 760km over 76 days, starting Sunday 26th of May.

As a mother, seeing what has been happening to innocent and vulnerable children, to their mothers and fathers, and to the Gaza population, has been heartbreaking. Running 760km will be a challenge, but it is nothing compared to what the people of Gaza and the rest of Palestine have had to endure.

For some of the runs, I will be joined by my one-year-old son who I will push in his pram.
