Every step is for my mum, others effected by breast cancer and for the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust
Bay of Plenty
When I was given a place in the New York Marathon it was just a great excuse to travel half way across the world, go shopping, meet up with a friend and do a bit of running. However, as is typical, life threw a curve ball and in my case it was 2 months ago when my mum was diagnosed (by a routine mammogram) with breast cancer. So, she’s 2 surgeries down and has a few months of treatment ahead of her.
She’s here with me in NZ, a long way from home in the UK and will stay for the duration of her treatment. The support she has received so far has been amazing which brings me to what this is all about. The marathon is now not just about an amazing opportunity but I want it to mean something ……to help raise awareness of breast cancer & going for those routine mammograms as well as raising funds for the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust who is helping Mum and many other people through this difficult journey.
I’m now running for my mum, the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust and all those who they support …….
My mum is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and is being supported by the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust
