Having family and friends needing this service previously, I felt this was a perfect time for me to raise money to help such a good cause.

West Coast

This year I have decided to coincide my silly decision to run my first ever (and possibly last) 100 mile (160km...yes I typed that correctly) run in Hanmer (Old Forest Hanmer 100) with the Westpac Chopper Appeal since they both run in May. The race begins on 17th May and will finish on the 18th May - yes I will be running during the night! The race format is a 10km figure 8 loop and I can guarantee I will be looking forward to seeing it for the 16th time (last lap).

Many black bean burritos, peanut butter waffles, cans of redbull, home made chocolate slice, jelly beans, coke, pizza and A LOT of electrolyte's will be consumed over the potential 24hours of running.

Done and dusted   11 June 2019

Well that could not have gone better! A bit of snow on the tops to keep me honest and off we go. A very low key set up but a family feel to the whole event, where everyone supported everyone else and all the support crews worked together to cheer on every runner. Surprised to come in third female but more excited to have 100 miles under my belt, new belt buckle to prove it! Could not have done it without all the amazing support including Katie, Stacey, Phoebe, Bec, Mum, Erin, Ryan and Matt. Thanks to my family for letting me train for hours and hours and Ali from squadrun for training me. The support of my work mates Shelley and Sue, Fresh Choice, Carol Keoghan, Westport Walkers and Joggers and Buller Pharmacy was fantastic. Thanks to every person who donated and Becks for doing a fab story, we raised over $2600 which has all gone towards the local air rescue trust!
