Cancer Shave for a Cure Support Middle age Embarrassing Hippy Mohawk
Nationwide
Shane is raising money for Shave for a Cure.
He has not got a lot of hair on his head but what he has left he’s already shaved into a Mohawk to support his 12 year old son Oli, who shaved his head for Shave for a Cure as part of his school fundraising. Having a bald head at 12 isn’t so trendy, so Shane’s showing Oli just how bad one man can look so long as there’s a good cause.
Shane’s prepared to dye the Mohawk whatever colour gets the most votes and wear it publicly for 7 days before shaving it off.

Shaving my head to raise money for cancer
THANK YOU ALL WE RAISED $2,645.00 11 April 2018
The “Mohawk Brothers” were a little apprehensive and not 100% comfortable, in the Oncology Unit, where we both knew that the stakes are high, and “real” patients and families/Whanau live this experience, it slammed back memories of my Dad receiving Palliative Chemotherapy.
Oliver & Alana commented on my verbose behaviour and excessive laughter, obvious signs of “out of comfort”zone.
Dean Abel was a highly competent shearer, not a scratch, a beautiful man (in real meaning of the word ), staunch yet dedicated.
Shane Heswall’s ability with the hand piece was questionable to say the least, no cuts on Dean’s scalp today, we both now join the “Kojak” club, perfect to cope with the present “Big” chill :-}
More photos of Dean’s depilatory to follow
That wraps this “life experience” up, hopefully I’ll see you before you hear from me again on FB
Once again, thank you all for your support and generous donations, to Shave for a Cure
You ROCK!
