BYE DREADS! Shaving for cancer

Hello! My name is Lydia.

I'm a lover of the outdoors, a happy vegetarian, a spiritual thinker and an equality advocate.

I am 21 yrs old and weeks away from shaving all 49 of my dreads off. (Which I have had for 5 years!)

Now is my time to do something positive :-)

Through visual & verbal awareness, emotional support, acceptance and most importantly in today's world; funding, i want to share my love and support to as many people as possible.

This cause is very close to my heart.

Two years ago my beautiful Mum was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. She endured 2 intense rounds of chemotherapy and a very intrusive operation of her throat and stomach to fight this disease.

With the smiles and support of myself, our family & friends and the NZ Cancer Society she is here today, embarking on crazy adventures and feeling the healthiest she has been in a long time!

From headscarfs, wig discounts and beauty sessions to coping mechanisms and supportive events, I saw and felt the impact the Cancer Society had on my Mum’s journey.

This is why; for all of the love they give, i have chosen to send the proceeds their way :-)
