Special Olympics Wellington must raise another $6,000 to send four of their athletes to the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi
Wellington
Four Wellington club members will represent New Zealand at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, in March 2019.
Janiece and Dominic will compete in Athletics, while Nathaniel is in the Basketball team. These three young people all have an intellectual disability.
Frank, who does not have an intellectual disability, is a Unified Partner in the Football team and he will play along side other footballers who have an intellectual disability. Unified sport promotes acceptance and inclusion.
The club needs another $6,000 to get these young people to one of the biggest sporting events in 2019.

I'm a volunteer basketball coach for Special Olympics Wellington and I've recently been lucky enough to have been selected to represent New Zealand as a Football Unified Partner at the Special Olympics World Games in 2019.
Thank you 27 March 2019
The Special Olympics World Games are now over and I would like to thank everybody who donated for your support. The money that was raised here helped send our Wellington club members on the trip of a lifetime and they all did Wellington and New Zealand proud. Three gold medals won by our Wellington athletes were the icing on the cake!
