Nana and the kids take on the deep blue sea! Our family is paddling to help people to get their lives back after cancer
Auckland
In 2015 our Nana was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
It was a scary time for all of us, but Nana was lucky to have high-tech surgery that helped her have a speedy recovery.
The silver lining to her cancer diagnosis was that Nana could now join the PaddleOn SUP Cancer Rehabilitation program with her local PINC physio Kate from Active Ellerslie.
It was awesome to see her grow in strength and confidence each week, and then to be able to paddle with her that summer at our local beach.
We are so thankful that she is fit and healthy now.
My brothers and I are going to SUPkids every week to train for the Paddle for Hope Teams relay, and we want to raise as much money as we can to help other people with their recovery.
We are looking forward to paddling with Nana, and supporting her to stay fit and active.
It's her best chance to stay healthy, so she can spend more special time with us. (We love you Nana! The ).
Thanks for your support - we'll do even better knowing you're behind us!

My Nana had cancer and did PaddleOn, & we are so grateful she is healthy now. We want to support our Nana to keep up the paddling, and to help other people recovering from cancer.
