World Class Waikato is helping the next generation of athletes to succeed. Nurturing and supporting these high performance athletes, is paramount to sustain their success and reduce the number of athletes, dropping off the world stage.

At 22 my badminton career is only just taking off. In 2013 I was selected in the New Zealand senior team and hold the position of the top ranked mixed doubles player in New Zealand. I am currently competing with my brother, Oliver Leydon-Davis, and we are working towards qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July 2014.

Susannah's Story 12 May 2014

Hi, Ifm Susannah Leydon-Davis, a local Waikato athlete who represents NZ for badminton. I compete with my brother Oliver, and together we are the 2014 Oceania Mixed Doubles Champions. 2014 brings a lot for my badminton career with the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July as a key goal. I have a story to share with other women and teen girls to help raise awareness of endometriosis. Ifve suffered the effects of endometriosis and since 2011 have had two surgeries to have it removed. Together, Insight Endometriosis and I are campaigning to raise not only awareness of the condition but also funds to support us both. In partnership with World Class Waikato, a high performance athlete sustainability organisation, the month of May will host the Next Generation Charity Challenge ? a fundraiser challenge for 12 athletes paired with 12 different charities.
