Six half marathons. One cause. Helping Hospice Waikato continue providing exceptional care and support.
Waikato
Earlier this year, I witnessed the incredible work Hospice Waikato does during the final weeks of a friend’s life.
Until then, I hadn’t truly understood the difference hospice care makes. Seeing it firsthand gave me a deep appreciation for the compassion, dignity, and support they provide to patients and the people who love them.
Every member of the Hospice Waikato team showed genuine kindness and professionalism. They cared not only for my friend but also for every family member and friend who came to visit. They created an environment where people could focus on spending meaningful time together, knowing their loved one was receiving exceptional care.
Hospice Waikato’s support goes far beyond medical care. They provide comfort, guidance, and reassurance during one of life’s most difficult experiences, helping both patients and their families navigate an incredibly challenging time.
Witnessing that level of care inspired me to give something back.
Second Half Marathon Completed 9 August 2026
On Saturday 8 August, I completed the second of six half marathons in support of Hospice Waikato.
That’s now two half marathons completed in just eight days, with four still to go over August and September.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my journey, and supported me so far. The support and encouragement continues to mean so much.
Together, we are raising awareness and funds for an incredible charity that supports patients and their families when they need it most.
I now have 20 days to recover and prepare before taking on the third half marathon at Mount Maunganui on Saturday 29 August.
2 of 6 complete and Four to go 🏃🏽
