Team Lily Bug does the Tongariro Crossing

My name is Oliver, I'm 8 years old and my sister, Lily, who is 4, is a heart kid.

Lily was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. In simple terms, it means the left side of her heart was too small. She has had three open heart surgeries already in her life and spent a lot of time in Starship hospital with my mum, whilst dad and I have been at home. We have received a lot of help and support from Heart Kids, since Lily was born.

Every week, 12 families in New Zealand are told their child has a heart condition and Heart Kids are there to help them like they have helped us.

So my best friend Beckett and I want to raise some money to give to Heart Kids as a thank you for helping our family and so they can carry on helping others.

Beckett and I will be walking the Tongariro Crossing this Easter with our dads to raise money for Heart Kids and we ask everyone who reads this page to donate. Every dollar will help, so please give whatever you can. This is going to be a very difficult walk for us but we're determined to make it to the end for Lily and other heart kids.
