The Healthcare NZ Spinal Trust Cycle team are riding the Tour of NZ in April to raise funds and awareness for spinal cord injury.
Nationwide
CEO's are often called to lead by example but is riding a road bicycle over 600 ks in some of the steepest terrain in the Nth and Sth Islands of NZ asking too much?
Heck no!
I love my job and love cycling and both require a lot of hard work to achieve the results needed.
It costs us over $1m a year to run our services that support individuals who have broken their necks or backs and their families. With cycling being the greatest sporting contributor to the two spinal units in NZ the Tour Of NZ is a perfect way to raise funds for our worthy cause. With over 80% of our income derived from funding grants and donations this is another way to fund our work.
Please support us now and make a donation through this event - it is easy to give - I will do the hard work on the bike so I can do the hard work at the spinal units.
As CEO of NZ Spinal Trust I am excited to be a part of this team to raise funds for our charity. With over 80% of our income coming from donations and grants I am grateful to have this opportunity to support new Zealanders who have a spinal cord injury
That's a wrap! 15 April 2019
All done! Well we completed our first Tour of NZ - I had the great joy to lead out our sprinter Justin van Tulder who won a criterion on the last day and we ended up with the Minister for Sport the Honorable Trevor Mallard make the closing remarks for the tour in our Healthcare NZ Spinal Trust team kit!! A huge thanks to those of you who donated to the "All Singing No Dancing Cycling CEO" page - I have $1000 to hit my target and there is still time to make a donation - please do do.
