The Big Cut

I am donating my hair to a charity that supplies wigs to children with cancer free of charge and also raising money for Cure Kids

Auckland

So, I have been growing my hair for a while now with the intention of donating it to charity at ‘some point’, turns out some point is next week!

I want to donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for cancer patients. Some of you will know I also did this in London and donated to a charity called the Little Princess Trust. Basically they take hair donations and make wigs for kids with cancer. They supply wigs for free to anyone who qualifies. I have decided to donate my hair again to the Little Princess Trust, but would also like to raise some money for a NZ charity. I have chosen Cure Kids.

Cure Kids raise funds so that vital medical research can continue to find cures for the serious illnesses that affect many children. Cure Kids put this very simply as “we fund the cures, they find the cures”.

I will be getting my hair cur next week, but will leave this open for a month to raise as much as possible. Any donations would be gratefully received - please spread the word and help me raise as much as I can.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
