Big Thank You to the latest donators - Thanks! 2 March 2012
A huge thank you to Rebecca Neville and Linda Croy for your generous donations. Rebecca - Thank you so much, I hope to see you join me for one of the events...if not this year, maybe we can work on a trip to the Hawkes Bay and do the Bloke Free one together, as Lynn does that one with me as well, and its a great first Triathlon to do. Great atmosphere, and always nice to go to a lovely vineyard for lunch afterwards....should I book you in! I will have a spare bike by then as well, as I am hoping to have saved enough for my first roadbike by October Next Year, so you could borrow the hybrid road bike I am using in the Triathlons now....still super fast! And a good bike for a first go at Triathlon, I think you would end up hooked just like me! Come and watch one this year....the atmosphere is great! Thanks again Becs! Linda - I am happy to talk swimming with ya!! I do have a hint for stopping goggles fogging up (as in the Kapiti Tri I added a good 100mtrs to my swim as I couldn't see the second Buoy). So I asked my fabulous swim coach Barbara Watson what to do, as I had spent lots of money on replacing goggles, buying two different brands of ocean swimming goggles to just have them either leak or fog. So anyway, she suggested cleaning them with some baby shampoo (as it won't sting your eyes if you don't rinse it off fully) so basically you rub some baby shampoo in them to clean them and give them a coating (before each swim session) and then you give them a good rinse and you should be good to go. I was going to try it out this weekend, but I am having to turn my triathlon into a duathlon this weekend and replacing the swim with an extra run, as I have an abscess under my arm, which has a packing in it since being sliced and diced today. Anyway....how is that for committment (or madness) I'm still going to do my 7th event! just a little differently, and in a slight codeine haze! But still plan on coming in on my own steam! The Give a Little Page did not give me an email link for you to get back to you about your ""any advice on swimming"" question, so I hope you get this message. I will put it on my Blog (which should also link on my facebook) and hopefully you will see it. Thanks again for supporting this challenge, sounds like we might get to meet at one of my other events.....are you doing the Contact Woman? or Contact 3:9:3? The Scorching Bay Triathons are also awesome! maybe I will see you at one of them, feel free to just bowl on up and say hi....I'm the short one! or should that be....the shortest.....I don't think you will see many other 39 year old female 5ft competitors....so I am sure I will be easy to spot! Keep up the good work with your triathlons.....and check out my blog if you have not done so already. http://thetwigster.tumblr.com Cheers Kris (aka The Twigster)
