Help young Kiwis with Disabilities make their own short film in NZ’s first 'all-abilities' film festival.

$5,230 of $5,000 goal

Glass Ceiling Arts Collective is raising funds to help young Kiwis make films and tell their stories in our "Through the Roof" festival.

Auckland

Glass Ceiling Arts Collective offers accessible youth theatre classes to Disabled and non-disabled Rangatahi so they can enjoy performing arts together. We are really excited to announce our first ever film festival, "Through the Roof", in support of budding film-makers from our youth programmes across Auckland and in Tauranga.

Five groups of kids will make their own short film, telling their stories, their way, supported by film industry experts. The films will then be celebrated and shared with friends and whanau at a grand red carpet premiere in Auckland toward the end of the year!

This exciting, NZ first, project will not only help young people explore their creative potential, it will provide an unforgettable team bonding experience which will increase their confidence and mental wellbeing (as well as teaching them some practical film-making skills along the way!)

How can you help? As a Not For Profit organisation we are relying on the generosity of people like you to make this possible. Each film will cost a minimum of $1,000 to shoot and we are hoping that this GiveALittle fundraiser will get us well on the way to the magical $5,000 we need. This money will cover camera/sound equipment hire and lighting.

We are truly grateful for any support you can give us in our mission to develop strong, resilient and creative kids with projects like this. We can't wait to see the films our awesome kids will make too!

THANK YOU to everyone who donated and shared in this fundraising experience.  18 April 2022

Thank you to everyone who donated and worked tirelessly to spread our call for support for "Through the Roof" - our upcoming all-abilities film-making project for disabled and non-disabled rangatahi. Together, we raised a whopping $5230! This means all of our 5 classes throughout Auckland and Tauranga can start developing their films: films which will tell their stories, through their voice.

Please keep an eye out for news and join us toward the end of the year when we screen the films in a grand film premiere event.

Thanks again.

From everyone at
