Hi I'm John,
I’m the Plant Operations Manager for Dunedin City Council’s 3 Waters team, which means I work with a team of super talented and hardworking people including technicians, fitters, electricians, engineers and scientists who operate our great small city’s water and wastewater treatment plants. I moved to Dunedin in 2017 after working in Sydney for nearly 10 years, but I am originally from York in the north of England. I think Dunedin is the best city in the world to live in. Our 3 waters team has had a few toss the boss participants in recent years so I am proud to carry on the tradition, to take my turn to be thrown off a terrifyingly large structure and to support the great work of Southern Youth Development.
When I’m not at work I am usually out and about with my wife and two children or at home doing jobs in the garden.
I’m being ably supported by chief fundraiser and toss the boss veteran, Blair Tucker. Please give generously to a great cause.

We made it to our target! 15 May 2023
We would just love to say a really big thank you to all our participants and donors for their support and donations to reach our target of $30,000. The difference this will make for our youth programmes is immense, and we are so grateful to be able to continue our positive mahi for young people in Clutha, Dunedin and Waitati. It was such a great day on Friday, with every participant being 'tossed' with various degrees of enthusiasm!
We will be keeping the page open for donations until the 26th of May so that you can still get whānau and friends to donate. While we have reached our target, every little bit helps to get to young people in need.
