Kerrie Young is the Regional Director for Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities – Sth Canterbury / Otago and Southland – based in Dunedin.

She has a strong belief that if all rangatahi are given the support and the opportunities they deserve then they’ll grow to be really great members of their community .. “ It’s our job to find homes for the families who need them. The sẏd youth programmes is there to support the young people of Dunedin. So why wouldn’t I want to help sẏd in their work supporting our families.”

Kerrie has a very healthy fear of heights and says her staff seem strangely excited to see her jump off the Stadium!! She is looking forward to the Kāinga Ora Team help with the fundraising efforts and will also expect a large cheer squad at the event in May.

In her spare time she is to be found in Central Otago sipping ‘Two Paddocks’ wine and looking after her grandchildren (usually not at the same time).

We made it to our target!  15 May 2023

Posted by: Southern Youth Development

We would just love to say a really big thank you to all our participants and donors for their support and donations to reach our target of $30,000. The difference this will make for our youth programmes is immense, and we are so grateful to be able to continue our positive mahi for young people in Clutha, Dunedin and Waitati. It was such a great day on Friday, with every participant being 'tossed' with various degrees of enthusiasm!

We will be keeping the page open for donations until the 26th of May so that you can still get whānau and friends to donate. While we have reached our target, every little bit helps to get to young people in need.

Again, thank you very much. We are so appreciative of all your support!
