Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation
Auckland
Dear Whānau and Friends,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m aiming to finish this adventure in 30 days—fingers crossed, here goes! The ride is 3000km long and we're aiming to raise $1 per km.
I Am Hope has been in the media spotlight a bit recently. Our own experience with their team, though, made the decision to support them easy.
Youth mental health challenges are becoming increasingly common and we hope they won’t touch our own families. When our journey into this difficult world began, we felt completely lost and overwhelmed — like so many other parents in similar situations.
In those early days the support from I Am Hope, through Mike, was invaluable. While he didn’t navigate us through the public mental health system directly, he provided us with the insight we needed—helping us understand what to expect, what questions to ask and when to stand our ground. His guidance gave us the confidence to advocate for the best possible care, making a daunting journey feel a little less overwhelming.
Once we found our footing, we were fortunate to be supported by an incredible team of professionals within the public system—compassionate, dedicated individuals working under immense pressure to give young people the tools and confidence to build a life worth living. We will always be grateful to them.
If the I Am Hope team can help other youth and parents who were as lost and scared as were in some way, this is what matters most to us. Link
