Let's raise some essential funds for women and children in NZ to safely escape violence at home, as exacerbated by the Covid pandemic
Nationwide
Last year during the first NZ lockdown I couldn't take my mind off the many thousands of people forced to stay home in dangerous conditions. It highlighted my extremely privileged position, where my main worry was whether I'd be able to get what I wanted from the supermarket.
Amidst the wonderful positive messages of all kiwis in this waka, paddling together, and the 'it is what it is' attitude, there are women and kids in nightmarish situations who deserve more.
I made a donation to Women's Refuge last year, and now, for our second national lockdown, I would love to increase that donation together, so wondered if you can help?
Your donation won't solve domestic violence but will enable us to all pull together in some way

If we can raise over $250, I'll pop everyone's names in a hat and pick a kind donor to receive a tasty batch of my 'famous' fresh chewy cookies - any flavour you choose!
If you want to enter the cookie draw, please leave your name with your donation, or send me a message if donating anonymously.
I'm starting by adding $50 myself, but please donate what you feel, ahakoa he iti he pounamu - small is also precious.
Ngā mihi ki a koutou. Noho ora mai.

Thank you so much for contributing 2 September 2021
To everyone who made a donation, thank so so much for getting involved, it's good to know a little bit of positivity has come out of this extended lockdown period :)
As for the cookie prize-draw... I've put everyone in who left their name and picked out.... Lynda! Congratulations, I'll be in touch about your flavour request :D
