Dwell provides affordable housing for people on low incomes whose housing needs are not being met by other housing providers.
We believe that stable, affordable, healthy and appropriate housing is fundamental to people’s wellbeing. We know that appropriate housing has long-lasting benefits for the people living within those households and the wider community. Sadly at a time when more NZers are renting their homes, social housing is on the decline. We are working hard to fill some of the gaps.
Dwell knows that the difference affordable and appropriate housing makes to people’s lives is huge and significant. We have numerous examples of families who have been able to change their lives through living in stable, affordable and appropriate housing.
More about us
Dwell Housing Trust provides affordable, quality housing for people in need or on a low income, and whose housing needs are not being met by other housing providers in the Wellington region. We are more than a landlord - we ensure our tenants have access to the support they need to live well, do well and be well.
We provide a range of housing services including social housing, supported housing for people experiencing mental illness, shared living for single people, and general needs affordable rental (below market) housing.
Dwell became operational in 2013 following the merger of Wellington Housing Trust and Mahora House Incorporated, who between them had more than 50 years experience in community housing. We carry on their great work in solving the housing crisis in the Wellington region.
