Action Education utilises creative and action based methods to engage young people in a journey of self-reflection and development.
Action Education is a youth development organisation with an edge. We use creative and action based methods - spoken word, drama, music and poetry - to engage young people in youth development processes that improve self-confidence, resiliency and social behaviour. These methods resonate strongly with young people, particularly those who are struggling to identify with more traditional ways of learning.
We spend our time working with young people in mainstream and Alternative Education schools, youth care and protection institutions, youth justice facilities and community organisations throughout Aotearoa.
Action Ed was established in 1981 with the mission of actively involving young people in their own development, and we continue to adhere to our original vision: that young people are free to express their diversity and inherent creativity.
