Auckland Single Parent's Trust and Te Kaitiakitanga Tamaki Makaurau o te Matua Kotahitanga

ASPT holds a variety of adult and family educational, social and recreational events and activities including camps, monthly support meetings, workshops and presentations with speakers on subjects unique to single parents. Knowledge, practical support and networking enable single parents, especially the 85% of the group without family in New Zealand or Auckland to function well in the community.

ASPT started in 2005 from an ad in the paper, registered as a trust in 2006 and set up monthly support meetings Central, South, North and West Auckland. ASPT made use of the internet for the flow of information. With over 64,000 single parents in the Auckland region during 2006 and growing, we have our work cut out for us.
