Be Free Incorporated

Be Free Incorporated

Be Free run successful 'Mentoring through Music' Youth sessions and rely on donations so that we can offer the programme for free.

Northland

Our FREE Mentoring programme aims to help the Youth in our community gain in self esteem and confidence, develop coping strategies, and become resilient, independent, supportive youngsters . With such life skills, our Youth are more likely to grow into balanced individuals who are able to resist falling into the harmful habits of alcohol and drug addiction that are common in our community.

This is the only such scheme in our area with a proven success rate, and we believe this is because we use music as a mentorship tool, a medium which the attendees already love, and which naturally facilitates growth. The Youth work collaboratively towards performance goals, which gives them a huge amount of confidence, and creates a sense of belonging. At Be Free, they create strong friendships as they mutually support and nurture each other.

Be Free Youth regularly perform in public all across the Far North. We organise our own events and participate in others, working hard to give our kids a platform, and we actively seek collaborative work with other Youth groups. We are a non-denominational, independent, outcome-values based programme who welcome support from our community. We accept youth from all cultures and religions, and offer a positive, nurturing environment where kids can thrive.

Be Free Inc. rely entirely on funding and donations in order to offer the 'Mentoring through Music' programme free to the youth, no matter what their financial situation is. Your donation will go towards the programme or an event to showcase the results of the programme. All donations, however small, are welcome and very gratefully received.

Far North Summer Sounds 2021  6 January 2021

SAT 13 FEB | KAINUI VINEYARD | KERIKERI | 12pm-7pm

Any donations to help cover the costs of this donation-only, fun event for the community would be gratefully received.

We're back! And this year we have THREE supercool headline bands for you... We're delighted to welcome back the fun and funky HIPSTAMATICS and STRANGELY AROUSING with their reggae/ska vibe. And we're thrilled to have dynamic, entertaining folk trio, ALBI & THE WOLVES joining us too!

Before ALL that, we've invited The Magic Playhouse to open the event with their wonderful kids show 'MAGIC IN THE BUSH' at midday. The main stage opens at 1pm.

Far North Summer Sounds is all about whanau, fun, great tunes and lots of dancing. All we ask in return is a koha entry donation of $5 (kids are free!) and a warm smile. We'll have yummy food stalls, great childrens' entertainment and the beautiful summery setting of Kainui Vineyard. We hope you, your friends and whanau can join us!

With a huge THANK YOU to our sponsors, Far North District Council, LJ Hooker Kerikeri and Creative Communities for making this event possible. As always, we are low on the amount of funding we need and would appreciate any donations through Give A Little to cover the costs of this affordable and fun community event.

This event is organised voluntarily and hosted by BE FREE Inc, supporting a Drug-Free Bay of Islands. If any extra money is raised during Far North Summer Sounds it will go towards running our free 'Mentoring through Music' Programme.
