Bellyful cooks and delivers meals to families with babies and young children who need extra support.
Nationwide
So many people are doing it tough and feeling alone during this COVID-19 crisis, there are many bellies to fill and whānau to help feel reconnected.
Bellyful is here to help - our volunteers are delivering meals to families with babies or young children who need extra support, in communities throughout New Zealand.
We are doing safe no-contact deliveries during Alert Level 3, and will be able to run Cookathons a gain at Alert Level 2 - to restock our freezers.
If you are in a position to help, we’d greatly appreciate any donations – big or small. Whether enough for a jar of pasta sauce, or for 100 meals, it will all help New Zealand families who need some extra support.

Bellyful has been supporting families in New Zealand for 10 years. We provide meals in 24 communities throughout NZ, thanks to the help of over 680 volunteers. In the last year we have delivered 26,000 meals to 4,600 families. We receive referrals from health professionals such as social workers, Plunket nurses and midwives, as well as family and friends. You can even refer yourself - it takes a lot of courage to ask for help.

(Love the acknowledgement of the arm power it takes to stir 10 litres of cheese sauce!)
As Branch Coordinator Nicole Barlow explains in the article, there is no income test to qualify for Bellyful. Our focus is on relieving stress, something that affects parents across all income levels:
“It’s just as rewarding going to a family that’s on the poverty line as it is taking it to a more financially stable family, but who has just had their first kid, had a C-section, and the husband has taken their only car into work."
