The Biological Husbandry Unit (BHU) is a 10ha organic farm and training college in Lincoln, Canterbury.
It was founded in 1976 as a research facility and grew into a college delivering hands-on education in organic food and fibre production. It is one of the oldest pieces organic certified land in the country. Today, we are still dedicated to providing education, training, and research in organic growing as well as facilitating community initiatives to support local food production and resilience in Canterbury.
We are an organics training center that grows free vegetables for whānau around Waitaha. Our vision is to promote the practice of kai sovereignty by empowering whānau to grow their own.
