Canterbury

The Biological Husbandry Unit (BHU) is a 10ha organic farm and training college in Lincoln, Canterbury.

It was founded in 1976 as a research facility and grew into a college delivering hands-on education in organic food and fibre production. It is one of the oldest pieces organic certified land in the country. Today, we are still dedicated to providing education, training, and research in organic growing as well as facilitating community initiatives to support local food production and resilience in Canterbury.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
