ChildFund works alongside communities worldwide to help children flourish. Through partnership with local organisations and communities, we build sustainable programmes that help children, youth, and their communities reach self-reliance. Because when every child thrives, the world will thrive. Because of you, children and youth can thrive!

Drawing on our deep expertise of development, our programming covers 6 key focus areas. These focus areas reflect the work we do to address key challenges that children and communities are facing all around the world.

1) EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Responding to emergencies and crises. ChildFund NZ's ongoing focus in emergencies is on child protection, supporting local partners already on the ground with food, fuel, clean water, and shelter. As needs evolve the focus then transitions to recovery and child youth and wellbeing.

2) CHILD PROTECTION

Keeping children safe and protected. All children have the right to grow up in an environment free of violence and exploitation. Through education and support, communities are given the tools to ensure children have a safe and happy environment to thrive.

3) HEALTH AND NUTRITION

Promoting health and nourishment. ChildFund NZ works with local partners to help provide communities with education and resources they need to provide nourishment and health care for their children. This includes tools to grow and prepare food and programmes to provide food for children in schools.

4) FAMILY LIVELIHOODS

Supporting sustainable income generation

We offer a diverse range of support to families to ensure they aren’t limited based on their circumstances. By offering training and resources in agriculture to other local business opportunities, families can generate better family income to support their children, and further contribute to the positive development of their communities.

5) QUALITY EDUCATION

Opening doors for a brighter future. Education has the greatest potential to bring a child and their family a brighter future. With your help we're supporting children in all stages of learning. From providing school supplies, to improving school facilities, it all helps create a place for children to learn and thrive.

6) WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE

Improving access to clean water. Everyone should have access to safe water. By creating community water access points, providing training to local families and spreading awareness about hygiene, we are helping keep children and their communities healthy.
