FLAME IS ABOUT INSPIRATION

We connect with slum dwelling children, and inspire them to leave begging or rubbish collecting and start school or re-engage in education. The goal is that each child reaches beyond their potential, lifting the roof off their current dreams.

We are relentless in our belief that their shattered past must not determine their future but increase their resilience, that ultimately they can become the leaders of their generation.

We call the process of slum child becoming young leader - “The Full Circle” – kids emerge as confident leaders in their communities, inspiring others in education, service and leadership.

IT'S NOT JUST WHAT WE DO BUT WHO DOES IT

Many Flame initiatives are started by the young adults in our Leadership Academy who have seen a need & decided to step in to address it. We believe those who have been through that situation, having experienced & lived it are the best people to bring solutions.

We focus on 3 key areas of support:

CHILDREN & FAMILIES

*Enrol and fund children to attend school

*Mobile Medical - mobile clinic giving free health care in slums

*Fund business initiatives and training

*Financial assistance eg - medicine, home repairs

EDUCATION & SPORT

*After-school activity centres to supplement kids learning in schools

*Book Tuk Tuk - mobile library visiting slums

*Soccer teams and competitions

LEADERSHIP & MENTORING

*Leadership Academy homes providing accommodation and living for tertiary students

*Student Learning Centre - study space, resources, short courses

*Mentoring to students

Flame works with children and youth, their families and communities, all faiths, religions, genders and ethnicities.
