Good Bitches Baking Trust

Good Bitches Baking is a network of people who want to show kindness to those in their communities having a tough time. We show our kindness in the form of home baking.

There are plenty of people out there having tough times: families with children in hospital; those using food banks and soup kitchens; residents in hospice and their loved ones; women and children fleeing domestic violence. We deliver home baking to organisations that have direct access to people like this and are able to make sure it gets to those that really need a little bit of aroha.

We’re in the business of manaakitanga - demonstrating that kindness can make all the difference.

So we cry tears of happiness when we hear that somehow our baking creates the sense of hope that our recipients don’t currently have. They say that having baking in their sparse offices encourages people to stay a little longer and open up a little more. They say that baking made them feel like they could keep going a little bit longer. They say that they took time, over a piece of cake, to connect with someone. They say that knowing someone cared enough to make them a treat made them feel less alone.

We’ve been running on the smell of an oily rag over the past five years since we started bitching. We've grown from 12 volunteer bakers in September 2014 to well over 2300 across 25 chapters around NZ today. By our calculations, by beginning of 2020, we have delivered 800,000 kind moments of sweetness to kiwis having a tough time.

We've worked incredibly hard over the last few years to keep up with demand and get us to where we are. The truth is, we can't keep going without more support. Running a charity of this size does cost money.

But we can't do it without your help. Here's how your donation will make a difference:

$5 helps us share a moment of sweetness with around 20 people.

$25 helps us share a moment of sweetness with around 100 people.

$50 keeps one of our smaller chapters in boxes for three months

$150 keeps our larger chapters in boxes for three months

$500 gives us a week of part time administrative support

$1000 helps us share a moment of sweetness with around 500 people.

Our mission is to make Aotearoa NZ the kindest place on earth. We need help to do it.

Right now we have 2300 volunteers in 25 chapters around NZ baking treats for people in their community who are having a tough time.

By the beginning of 2020, we had shared 800,000 'moments of sweetness' with Kiwis having a bad day.

Use of funds

Funds raised will be used to support the day to day activities of our HQ team, provide basic supplies like cake boxes to our chapters, and fund the set up and support of chapters across the country.
