Our vision is to help men, women and children in northwest Auckland to live free from family violence.Auckland
We, like so many others, have been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak and have made the sad but prudent decision to postpone our planned Turning The Tide Fundraising Event from 17 May 2020.
We hope to reschedule at a later date, but in the meantime we are reliant on our community to support us in other ways, especially as the stress and uncertainty created by Covid-19 will inevitably mean more pressure on families and increased violence in the home.
The Kia Tīmata Anō Trust provides emergency refuge for women and children escaping abusive situations. Our staff are also out in northwest Auckland every day, visiting both men and women who have been referred by police, or family or friends or who have contacted us directly.
We see over 300 such clients a year.
We're an organisation that's boldly rethinking the model of family violence prevention and we hope you'll support us in our vision for a family-violence free northwest Auckland.
More about us
We stand for a life free from violence, of any kind.
We stand for a world where all people - women, children and men - have the help and resources they need to make the changes to live in safety.
We stand for a community that's prepared to say "family violence is not going to happen on our watch."
Thank you for standing alongside us. Ngā mihi nui.
Use of funds
Funds raised will go to employing a new refuge advocate.
