Nourish@Christmas is a community group who provide hampers of food to families who are doing it tough at Christmas across the greater Wellington region.

What started out almost ten years ago as a one-off idea and providing 21 Christmas hampers in the Hutt Valley, has now snowballed and turned into being asked to provide 2,030 Christmas hampers of food this year across the Wellington. We are an entirely volunteer run group, and every dollar donated goes straight into providing hampers to families.

Since we started, we've provided hampers to 6,387 families and distributed groceries valued at $958k! The hampers are worth around $150 each, so this means for 2024 we needed to fundraise over $300,000 to provide this food to families in our region this Christmas.

This year, there is a real chance we aren't going to be able to hit our fundraising target to provide the requested 2,030 hampers of food to families in the Wellington region doing it tough at Christmas. We knew that fundraising over $300,000 was going to be tough!

We are seeing the real squeeze from the impact of cost of living increases, both on our recipient families and on our ability to provide the same amount of groceries as previous years. This year has also been hard on the fundraising front - people and businesses are doing it tough everywhere.

Every dollar donated takes us one step closer to achieving our goal. Thank you for helping us bring some sparkle to local families at Christmas.
