Ten ambulances. Ten years of care.

The New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust is running its annual 'Here for the Horse' appeal throughout August, marking a decade of care for New Zealand's horses.

Our mission is to promote and protect equine welfare and to support the wellbeing of New Zealand's racing and sport horses by ensuring our response is of the highest standard.

The horse ambulance attends Thoroughbred race meetings and trials, harness race meetings, and equestrian events.

The equine ambulances have a full hydraulic suspension system that lowers the unit to ground level in 5 seconds. When a horse is ill or injured, there is far less stress on the animal than having to walk up or down a ramp.

Equine veterinary surgeons and a transport engineer designed the ambulance, and the NZ Veterinary Association, along with NZ's leading equine clinics and hospitals, supports the Trust.

The NZ Horse Ambulance Trust is a registered charity (Charities Services no. CC53589), and donors are eligible for a 33.33% tax credit on donations.
