The NZSAS is a specialist unit within the NZ Defence Force. The NZSAS Trust provides an opportunity to support the efforts of its members.
Auckland
The New Zealand Special Air Service (NZSAS) is a specialist force that provides Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Combating Terrorism, Direct Action, Support and Influence capabilities to the NZDF and has seen service in a number of conflicts since its inception. Demands placed on unit members (and their families) are considerable and as a consequence of the impact of their service on past and present members a charitable trust, the NZSAS Trust, was created to support serving and former members of the Regiment and in many cases their families. These also include those families and dependents whose partners have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the conduct of their duties.
In the event of such a tragedy, the NZSAS Trust is there to provide a range of monetary and in-kind support. To achieve this the Trust relies on donations that over a period of time have been made by a considerable number of supportive New Zealanders.
Donations through this Givealittle page are distributed to the specific dependents and family in need.
The NZSAS Trust is a tax-registered charitable trust, established in 2004 to look after those who are actively serving or were previously posted to the 1st New Zealand Special Air Service Regiment, including their immediate families. It also includes any person who has served in the Long Range Desert Group, Special Operations Executive and Z Special Unit.
