Small SPCA ~ large geographical area ~ low income earners ~ small population ~ over population of companion animals ~
Bay of Plenty
We have a small band of volunteers with one full time volunteer as our Inspector funding her own vehicle and one part time staff member, Opotiki struggles at times for finance to achieve the job it wants to. Our focus has been to desex, to help assist low income earners to desex their pet, this has been successful resulting in less animals coming to the Centre. This is not a cheap exercise with ongoing funds always needed.
Small Eastern Bay SPCA ~ advancing best practice welfare for all animals by preventing cruelty, caring for abused, sick and neglected companion pets. Promoting desexing as a solution to our over population problem.
KITTEN SEASON APPROACHING 11 September 2016
Thank you so much to all our donators lately, it is really appreciated. Kitten season is fast approaching, we have had our first pregnant cat in, so we anticipate kittens happening very soon. Our main focus is to help the community desex their companion animals, this decreases the number coming into our Centre, lessens the chance of sick, injured and stray animals, reducing euthanasia due to these factors. Desexing more and reducing numbers makes our volunteers and staff very very happy. Please help us continue on this valuable work.
