Second Chance Tasman

Second Chance is a registered not-for-profit organisation (reg# CC50223) founded in July 2013. Our mission is to help dogs in need. We do not receive council or government funding and rely solely on donations and sponsorship.

Here at Second Chance we want to find loving homes for dogs that have been dumped, neglected or abused. The majority of dogs we re-home come from the Richmond or Nelson Pound. Many of these dogs are young, energetic and just need a Second Chance in life.

All the dogs we re-home are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We rely 100% on donations made from the public. We do not have a dog shelter so foster families are vitally important in helping us get the dogs out of the pound and into a family environment. This also allows us to get to know the dogs and what they are like around the home, so we can make a good match with a family.

Second Chance is overseen by a committee of three hard working gals. They all have busy lives and jobs, and look after the lucky dogs at Second Chance in their spare time.
