Stoves for Africa

Stoves for Africa

Helping people affected by genocidal violence in Africa by raising funds for fuel efficient cooking stoves.

Auckland

Women risk being raped and killed when they venture from their refugee camps in search of firewood for cooking. The fuel effcient stoves use up to 75% less wood which means fewer dangerous trips, plus other benefits such as more family time, the ability to start small businesses and reduced deforestation of the mountain gorillas' habitat in Rwanda.

This charity was started in 2009. We aim to raise 25 stoves per year. All funds are forwarded to CHF International specifically for the stoves projects in either Darfur or Rwanda.
