Waikato Digital Youth Network

Waikato Digital Youth Network

WaiDYN provides project based educational programs for Waikato youth to develop their digital fluency and creativity.

Waikato

The Waikato Digital Youth Network (WaiDYN) provides opportunities for Waikato Youth living in under resourced communities to develop their digital fluency and creativity. Project based educational programs are offered to youth members that empower them to be more capable, creative and confident life long learners. A goal of these programs is to provide pathways into further education and careers .

To support these programs youth have access to a wide range of digital technologies including state of the art software, a music studio, robotics kits and 3D printers.

Currently WaiDYN operate a single creative studio in the Enderley area that has over 200 youth members. Over time WaiDN are looking to extend the reach of these programs by opening additional studios in under resourced communities across the Waikato Region.

More about us

WaiDYN is run by a charitable trust that believes in empowering rangatahi (youth) and communities to discover and create a world of opportunity and success, through lifelong learning. Our mission is to develop pathways for rangatahi into higher education, meaningful employment or social enterprise, by expressing creativity and developing digital fluency through relevant technology.

Currently WaiDYN operate a single creative studio in the Enderley area that has over 200 youth members. Over time WaiDN are looking to extend the reach of these programs by opening additional studios in under resourced communities across the Waikato Region.

WaiDYN is affiliated to the High Tech Youth Network (HTYN). HTYN aims to empower young people and communities to become more capable, creative, and confident life long learners. Each HTYN studio fosters the growth of a learning community, through the sharing of ideas and to encourage in young people the development of a positive identity and belief in their potential, through linking cultural knowledge and values with technology.
