The Healthy Future Families (HFF) Trust is a registered charity formed in 2013 by a group of health professionals who share a concern about the number of overweight children being seen in clinical practice, who are developing health problems such as type 2 diabetes as a result of their excess weight. Our vision is for all New Zealand children to live in an environment that enables and supports healthy eating and physical activity patterns. To do this, we aim to raise awareness of the long term implications of obesity and type 2 diabetes, and the factors that are contributing to the increasing incidence of these in New Zealand children. The HFF Trust advocates for change in the current obesogenic environment, carries out health promotion activities and supports health initiatives that will contribute to a reducing obesity and type 2 diabetes in the future.
