The HFF Trust is a non-profit, Wellington-based charitable trust. Our vision is for all New Zealand children to live in an environment that enables and supports healthy eating and physical activity patterns. One of the core activities of the HFF Trust is supporting and funding Garden to Table schools in the greater Wellington region. Garden to Table is a programme that teaches children to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food. Cannons Creek School was the first Garden to Table school in Wellington. To celebrate two years of involvement with Cannons Creek School, we would like to present the year 6 students who are leaving the school at the end of this year with their very own recipe book. With this, they will be able to share their Garden to Table experiences with their families and continue cooking at home.

For the past two years, the health professionals from the HFF Trust have been coordinating the Garden to Table programme at Cannons Creek. This includes running the cooking classes and providing nutrition education to Cannons Creek School Garden to Table students. The HFF Trust also provides three years of financial support to each Garden to Table school which assists with the cost of setting up and embedding the Garden to Table programme into the school. This support allows schools to purchase gardening and kitchen equipment, essential for the running of the Garden to Table programme.
