You can help make New Zealand a great place to age for everyone. Give a gift that promotes dignity, wellbeing, and independence.
Age Concern New Zealand wishes you and your family a safe and joyful holiday season.
Christmas is an ideal time to reflect on the year, celebration, and connection. Many of us treasure fond memories and cherished traditions, sharing laughter and love with friends and family. But for thousands of New Zealanders, this season can feel painfully lonely. As community events pause and social circles shrink, isolation grows, and its impact is serious.
Loneliness isn't just emotional. It affects physical health, memory, and even life expectancy. In 2023, the New Zealand General Social Survey found that over 11% of people aged 65+ felt lonely most, all, or some of the time. The New Zealand Social Wellbeing Agency reported that 17% of older people were vulnerable to social disconnection.
You can help change that.
Sometimes the smallest gestures, a shared slice of cake, a handwritten note, make the world of difference. And your generosity can go even further.
Donate today and give a gift that lasts.
