CHARLIE - SULPHUR CRESTED COCKATOO - NEEDS YOUR HELP

Charlie had a wonderful home with his 1st owner. When he was too sick to care for Charlie, he entrusted Charlie to people that were unfortunately uneducated & couldn’t give Charlie a good life, This is when Charlie’s life drastically changed…

A welfare check was in need for Charlie. He had no water, seed shells, very little food. His wings uneven, was underweight, stained with urine, faeces & very unclean. He had not been bathed or cared for.

The avian vet found, Charlie was severely underweight & unfit. He determined, Charlie was beaten so badly one wing is completely detached, the other attempted to heal but is deformed.

Charlie requires a wing amputation ASAP, it is hanging by the skin and no longer attached to the bone. Thanks to rehab he is able to retain 1 wing.

We have been feeding him a specialised diet to get him up to weight for surgery. Now his health is able to handle the surgery, we need your help.

The cost of surgery is incredibly expensive. .

We also need to purchase additional equipment to assist because he has trouble with mobility atm, & will need extra support after surgery.

Charlie now has a safe & loving home. He is no longer a defensive, with a fear of human hands. We have worked past his fear, & able to feed, hold, talk and play with him.
