Coeliac NZ – Coeliac Awareness Week

Coeliac Awareness Week runs from June 10 - 16 and is a pivotal time on our calendar. The theme for this year is: Coming together for the gluten free community.

It’s a key opportunity for us to reach out to our members and the wider community for much needed support and assistance.

There remains an ever-increasing need to educate people about the range of symptoms beyond stomach upsets and discomfort that indicate that the person may need to be tested for Coeliac Disease.

"It's often said that food brings people together but, in the case of those with coeliac disease, it can set them apart." says Coeliac NZ foodie ambassador Sally Holland.

Please donate to our 'GF For Life' campaign to help us raise valuable funds so we can continue to increase awareness and educate the hospitality and food manufacturing industry, and the wider community about Coeliac Disease so they can understand the difference between coeliac-safe gluten free food and gluten-free by choice.

We want to see the Dining Out Programme accreditation on many more eateries across the country, and with your help we can continue to educate and train more chefs, waiters and hospitality staff so that the strict dietary requirements of coeliacs is better understood

As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on our members and the wider gluten-free community for support to strengthen the voice of Coeliacs.

We’re encouraging our supporters to question how much they knew about coeliac disease before they were diagnosed and make Coeliac New Zealand their charity of choice and donate during Coeliac Awareness Week.
