Help us develop and promo blind cricket in NZ

Nationwide

NZ will be hosting Australia for the first time in 20 years (!) in a "development tour". This will develop blind cricket players from both countries and promote blind cricket in the Australasia region as well.

The cost of one weekends development camp can be approximately $3,000 for 15 people, the cost of this development tour will be a minimum if $10,000. While our participants are, and will be, asked to contribute to the expense of this tour, we rely on the donated $ to find all activities.

This development tour will be the start of our campaign to build a team for future Blind Cricket World Cups.

As well as the development tour we provide equipment to new clubs starting out (2 kits provided this year totalling $1,000) and development camps for individuals wanting to grow in the sport.

About us

We are the governing body of Blind Cricket in New Zealand.

We oversee the day to day running of blind cricket across the country as well as being NZ's representative body to the World Blind Cricket Limited who have an affiliation of 10 countries.

Manukau South Blind Sports Club on 04 Nov 2014

This money was raised through a Dine-In-The-Dark event at one of our club nights. This was a fun night where we were all blind folded and given a meal to eat (and work out what we were eating!) This was a huge eye opener to some of the family members of our vision impaired members who took part!

Auckland All-Comers on 04 Nov 2014

This money was raised through a social game against the Manukau South Blind Sports Club. After the game a social BBQ was held where players made donations towards the tour. Players wore blind folds during the game to simulate some of the eye conditions some of the Manukau South team have.
