The tour might be over…. But here’s a summary of match 4  15 March 2024

Match 4 Summary

🇳🇿149/3-20 v 150/3-16.4🇿🇦

Words are limited for the awesome effort the team put in yesterday!

🇳🇿 won the toss and elected to bat first opening with James Dunn and Donovan Van Noordwyk. This opening partnership put on a score of 71 by the 8.4 over where we unfortunately lost JD’s wicket. Next in was Gary Williamson who unfortunately wasn’t there long and was bowled in the next over.

The next partnership formed between Donovan and Mark Flowerday where they were able to see the score to 147 in the 19.4 over. Ming Ming was sent out for the last 2 balls of the innings in the hope of pushing Donovan to his 50 runs.

In the field, Marquele McCaskill takes the prize with 2 run outs while Deacan Dunn took a wicket with his bowling giving him bowling stats of 3 overs, 33 runs, 1 wicket and an economy rate of 11. Most economical bowlers were Mark with 2.4 overs, 17 runs economy of 6.38 and Donovan with 3 overs for 22 runs, economy rate of 7.33. Extras are still there and seem to sit around the 30 mark but, the team improve daily!

That takes the series to a 4-0 score to SA with 2 matches to go.

The next match will be played in Pretoria 10am Sunday (9pm Sunday NZ time)

Too run scorers:

Donovan 49 off 59 (SR 83.05) 1 4

James 35 off 35 (SR 100) 2 4’s

Mark 27 off 28 (SR 96.43) 2 4’s
