Help Cultivate Lunch a new Youth Programme
Canterbury
We have built farms and supported over 45 young people off the benefit and into employment from 2015-2022. We had to close our farms after a tough time through Covid-19 and are now working to launch a pilot programme.
The Ministry of Social Development have asked us to run a programme for young people with mental health issues that are currently on the benefit. We have designed a pilot program which we are very excited to launch!
This new program will build on the kaupapa of Cultivate 1.0, but allows us to do what we do best (youth employment) without trying to manage a commercial venture at the same time. Our program will allow them to experience outdoor careers through working on farms, gardens, planting trees and one day trips. Based on our previous work, we know this will help them develop confidence, awareness and an understanding of work in the natural world.
In addition to any donations, if you would like to partner with by having our participants gain experience alongside your outdoor business or offering, we would love to hear from you.
Cultivate Christchurch's new programme! We are focusing on exposing youth who are beneficiaries with mental illness to outdoor employment and careers. We aim to develop each persons confidence, awareness and an understanding of work in the natural world.
Start up costs to secure a contract with MSD. Paying staff and directors for their work ensuring we get the contract, accountancy fees for things like financial reports, networking with others so we can collaborate when we have the programme up and running
