Why does NRT exist?
Our mission at NRT is to walk with our kids as they build confidence to achieve their hopes and dreams. We use creativity, mindfulness and yoga to help young people excluded from mainstream school to turn their lives around…. And we need your help!
Where does your Christmas donation go?
Every Christmas donation will go directly to establishing our first classroom, opening in Otara in February 2016. You will be helping to fund technology & transport needs, and our mindfulness & yoga program.
What can I do to be part of this?
You can donate on your own behalf or you can give a special Christmas present by donating on behalf of your friends, family and workmates.
If you're making a straight donation, we say thank you for being part of the change! If you're Christmas gifting to others as well then here's what you do to let them know...
1. Make your generous donation
2. Email christmas@ngarangatahitoa.co.nz to let us know the deets, and we will send your e-card (you can also request a hard-copy to be posted to you)
3. Forward the e-card or post the hard-copy card to say ‘Good Christmas Vibes’ to your loved one
4. Feel extra awesome about your own good self
Ngā Rangatahi Toa is a wāhine Māori-led, not-for-profit that engages with vulnerable Māori and Pasifika rangatahi from low socio-economic areas of Tāmaki Makaurau. Our mission revolves around building protective factors, resilience, and fostering well-being practices within these communities.
We guide these rangatahi through a portfolio of projects that combine creative exploration with youth development strategies, housed within the indigenous framework of Te Ao Māori (The world of Māori).
Our strength based and solution focused programs, scaffolds rangatahi through a process of rangatiratanga (leadership empowerment), kotahitanga (connected - togetherness) and mauri (life force - wellbeing) to support our rangatahi to become thriving, active members of their whānau and their communities.
