#HEAR4U - Taupo Half Marathon Project

#Hear4U has partnered up with Total Sport Taupo to boost the morale, mental health and resilience of our communities. #Hear4U is a charity and community organisation dedicated to suicide prevention and breaking the stigma around Men's Mental Health. Post Cyclone Gabrielle, the region of Tairawhiti has been significantly impacted, and continues to struggle through unprecedented weather patterns. We are encouraging as many people as possible to join our team of over 200+ to "take a break, RESET, and provide HOPE" through unison.

This pathway promotes physical exercise, sleep, connection, and creates HUGE awareness. Mental health does not discriminate, and it's not always easy to ask for help. Many of our team members have lost loved ones to suicide, through unity and engagement, it helps the healing process. All funds raised will be distributed throughout our well-established advocacy service because:

1. We support clients at GP visits, therapy and counselling sessions, providing extra support and understanding. We tend to find that men in particular often require a "voice". Funding will enable us to assist each individual by facilitating which ever mental health professional suits best.

2. Providing a safe, non-clinical, and safe headquarters for clients to seek mentoring costs money! Wish it didn't.

3. #Hear4U provides holistic projects and projects - We have a fresh approach to advocacy at #Hear4U, we offer various events, workshops, and wellbeing events.
