Help us to keep supporting survivors of sexual harm across Wellington City, Porirua, and the Kāpiti Coast.
Wellington
Every survivor of sexual harm deserves inclusive, wraparound support.
Sexual harm is devastatingly prevalent across Aotearoa. Wellington City specifically has the highest rates of sexual assault in the country, more than 10 times the national average*.
No one should have to go through sexual harm alone. That’s why our mahi at Wellington HELP is essential and crucial.
We've worked alongside survivors of sexual harm for over 40 years. We provide specialized support services for survivors across Wellington City, Porirua, and the Kāpiti Coast. We work with people of all ages, genders, and sexualities, and their whānau and friends.
We offer:
• A 24/7 support line
• A crisis call-out service for survivors partaking in police interviews/reports or forensic/medical examinations
• Social work
• Justice advocacy
• Counselling, including art, dance, and animal therapy
• Education for our community
The funds we raise will go directly to our operational and service delivery needs.
As a charity, we rely on government funding and the support of our generous community. Over the past year, we have provided support services to hundreds of survivors, having accepted over 1,300 referrals**. We need our amazing community by our side to help us continue to help survivors.
* 2020, Rate of assaults in Wellington CBD 10 times higher than nation's average, RNZ
** We measure our service uptake by the number of referrals we accept, as many survivors access more than one of our services.
Wellington HELP provides specialised support services such as crisis support, social work, justice advocacy, and counselling to survivors of sexual harm. We work across Wellington City, Porirua, and the Kāpiti Coast, offering inclusive services for all.
All funds raised will go directly to our operational and service delivery needs.
