The Year 9 students from Howick College have put together various awareness programs for BeyondWater. They've created the ideas themselves and are sharing them both with their fellow students and wider community.
I'm involved as I am the CEO of BeyondWater and have been working with the students of Howick College on the project.
BeyondWater is a not-for-profit organization working across East Africa. Our focus is on ensuring schools, medical clinics, childrens home and remote communities have access to safe, clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
These include deep bore wells, guttering, water tanks, hand washing facilities, toilets and health education programmes.
BeyondWater is registered as a trust both in New Zealand and Kenya, and as a charity in Australia.
This page has been set up collect the funds raised by the students public awareness campaign. It will be used to build school toilets and provide water for students as well as enroll as many students into The Girl Project in Kenya and Uganda.
