We want to raise funds to give children in East Africa underwear.
Auckland
Imagine if your children didn’t have any underwear, or at the most one pair?
It’s hard for us to grasp that this is the reality for thousands of children across East Africa. BeyondWater has been giving safe, clean drinking water to communities for 10 years in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. We’ve also been ensuring that schools have toilets with hand washing facilities.
When our education teams go into schools to teach about health and hand washing techniques, we give students new underwear. BeyondWater hosts The Girl Project for teenagers and as part of the program the students receive a couple of much needed pairs of underwear throughout the year.
Because of generous individuals, BeyondWater supplies 1,000 pairs of underwear each year.
With your help we can bring dignity back into the lives of thousands of children and teenage girls.
I am one of the co-founders of BeyondWater and have lived in Kenya for the past 5 years.
BeyondWater is a not-for-profit organization working across East Africa. Our focus is on ensuring schools, medical clinics, childrens home and remote communities have access to safe, clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
These include deep bore wells, guttering, water tanks, hand washing facilities, toilets and health education programmes.
BeyondWater is registered as a trust both in New Zealand and Kenya, and as a charity in Australia.
Funds will be used to give teenage girls, and small children (both genders) underwear as part of our education health programs.
