🚶♂️💥Kia Kori te Tinana – Let’s Move!💥🏃♀️
Join us as we support the Rise+Shine Run Club and the Josiah Mika Foundation to reach new heights in empowering young people and their whānau!🙌
The Rise+Shine Run Club is a vibrant, rangatahi-led initiative that’s now in its third year and growing! With more young people & whānau joining us each year, we're passionate and committed to supporting this powerful kaupapa for the long haul, empowering our youth to lead, thrive, and create lasting change in their communities.
We’re fundraising to get our young athletes out there competing in exciting events like the Auckland Marathon and Toi Challenge in Whakatāne, as well as the Tarawera Ultra 50km🌟 These events are more than just runs – they’re a way to raise funds that directly support and deliver community initiatives for tamariki and rangatahi in South Auckland and the Eastern Bay of Plenty, focusing on sport, education, and youth development.
Your support will empower young people to rise above adversity, build resilience, thrive and shine, helping them reach their full potential through sport, education, and community engagement🌱✨

In loving memory of their precious son Josiah (Sunrise 20/09/2010 - Sunset 16/05/2020), The Wharewera-Mika whānau established the Rise+Shine Josiah Mika Foundation, empowering young people to RISE above adversity, exuberant resilience, flourish and SHINE.
The funds will support young people and their whānau in participating in key events and provide access to sports, education, and community initiative in South Auckland and the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
🌟 Mā te mahi tahi, ka taea e tātou – Through working together, we can achieve! 17 February 2025
Role models show us what’s possible. When we see people like us in places we aspire to be, it gives us the confidence to believe we can get there too🩵
Over the weekend, three incredible young men, Jerome/Ethan/Osi from our RS Run Club took on the Tarawera Ultra Marathon T50 (52km) and smashed it, an amazing achievement! Just two years ago, they were new to long-distance running. Since then, they’ve conquered the Auckland Marathon (42km), the Whakatāne Toi Challenge, and now this epic ultra-marathon. Their perseverance and brotherhood show other rangatahi what’s possible when they back themselves and each other.
The sky is the limit! We’re so proud of their journey and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support and uplift our young people, your belief in them makes a difference!🩷🩵
